About Us
Maltexo is a brand of malt extract made in Canterbury from New Zealand barley which is grown in a clean NZ environment. Malt Extracts are concentrated syrups made from barley which has been transformed by controlled germination and brewing processes in our Canterbury Malt Extract plant. These malt extracts are produced under the regimes of ISO9001:2000 certification and HACCP accreditation to ensure the production of safe products of the highest quality.
Brand History
The Maltexo brand traces its origins from Dunedin at the turn of the 20th Century and has a history of over 85 years of supply as a supplement and food ingredient to customers. It was used extensively by the Government in the post war era as a health supplement for soldiers and it has similarly been used by families with young children for decades.

Maltexo is a nutritionally valuable food which contains a wide range of vitamins, amino acids and minerals in addition to its portfolio of readily accessible simple sugars and less easily assimilated complex carbohydrates.
